Seismic-Zone Application Guidelines
In 1995, Federal funding was approved to address the need for updated specifications for steel moment-frame construction in seismic zones resulting in a document now know as FEMA 353 (Federal Emergency Managment Agency).
FEMA 353 contains recommended specifications and quality assurance guidelines judged necessary to achieve design objectives for steel moment-frame buildings subject to seismic loading, such as that experienced in earthquake zones. Currently, the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) and the American Welding Society (AWS) are considering incorporating various portions of FEMA 353 into the AISC Seismic Provisions and the AWS Structural Welding Code. Keep in mind, you don't have to wade through the new guidelines
alone…just turn to Lincoln for the total solution! We have the right
